What to Expect
For your first appointment:
- Ensure you have filled out the new patient intake forms and signed consent forms at least 48 hours before your appointment. It will take about 15-20 minutes to fill out these forms.
- Ensure your internet connection is strong and test your device a few minutes prior to your appointment time if your appointment is virtual.
- Plan to be at your first appointment for approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes in total. Let Dr. Go know if you need to be finished by a certain time.
- You and Dr. Go will discuss your chief concerns in detail, as well as relevant aspects of your lifestyle and any other issues that may be affecting your health. This in-depth assessment allows your Naturopathic Doctor to develop a thorough understanding of your current state of health and to treat you safely and effectively as a whole person. It is important to understand the progression in your state of health and key events that have influenced your path in order to identify the root causes of the concerns that are troubling you today and how to treat them. Your Naturopathic Doctor will outline to you how the many tools of Naturopathic Medicine can be used to help you reach your goals for healing, recovery and wellness. You may receive some initial treatment or exercises at this visit that will become more refined at your second visit after your Naturopathic Doctor completes your individual wellness plan. Recommendations for blood work or other lab testing may also be made.
For your second appointment:
Your second visit will last approximately 75 minutes depending on your case and will generally take place within two to four weeks after your initial visit. You will follow up on your initial treatment or testing at this visit. If not already done at your first visit, any relevant health history information that we did not discuss during the first visit will be reviewed at this time. Your treatment options will be outlined to you. Your treatment plan and the monitoring process over the next following months will be explained in more depth.
For follow-up appointments:
Most follow-up return visits are 60 or 45 minutes in duration and will be used to provide you with ongoing care, to monitor your progress and to address any new concerns that may arise.
If you require care for an acute concern (e.g. treatment of a cold or flu; checking a child’s ears for infection; blood pressure check, etc.), we will make every effort to accommodate a same-day appointment of 15 to 30 minutes for existing patients.
Note: In order to make effective and lasting changes to your health, it is best to commit to at least 3 visits with your Naturopathic Doctor to safely evaluate how your treatment plan is working for you. Your Naturopathic Doctor’s priority is to do what is best for your health and well-being. Your doctor will never recommend treatments that are unnecessary and will work with you to figure out what would best suit you.
